Tetbury

Ok questo si dice davvero barare :) sono a corto di nuove creazioni, sono a corto di idee o foto nuove di casa ecc. e devo ancora trovare il tempo per sistemare le foto dell bellissima vacanzina in Scozia.. quindi devo ricorrere alle foto vecchie mai pubblicate di giri e giretti vari per non lasciare il blog in silenzio!

Eccovi quindi Tetbury (foto della scorso settembre), una brevissima presentazione e poi passiamo alle foto! Piccola cittadina del Gloucestershire, famosa per i numerosissimi negozietti di antiquariato, una vera pacchia per gli appassionati del settore... ma anche per me c`era da gustarsi l`occhio con qualche oggettino dal gusto shabby chic e un pó retro!

Mi sono piaciute moltissimo le decorazioni a bunting nelle tinte della bandiera inglese che davano quel che di festa e di folklore!

Ok I am officially running out of new crafts, new pictures, new ideas etc. and I haven`t had the time to sort out the pictures from our scottish holiday yet! so I`m afraid I have to post some old pictures (from last september) to avoid leaving the blog empty!

So here it`s Tetbury for you! A cute small town in the county of Gloucestershire. It`s very famous for the many many many antique shops you can find on its streets! It`s really a paradise for antique lovers and collectors, but I have to admit I have also found so many small shabby chic and retro style treasures! I especially loved the bunting decorations (in the colours of the british flag) around the town, very traditional and colourful!

Quale migliore occasione per presentarvi anche una delle (poche, aimé) prelibatezze british :)

Vi presento il sig. Cream Tea, una bomba calorica ma che bontá!!! Trattasi di usanza tipica del sud ovest Inghilterra (dove vivo appunto ora) ormai esportata in tutta l`isola o quasi.

Per chi non lo conoscesse, si tratta del classico thé del pomeriggio abbinato a dei favolosi "scones", ovvero delle specie di tortini iperburrosi da riempire di clotted cream (una specie di panna/mascarpone) e marmellata (spesso alla fragola)! delle vere delizie, nemiche giurate della prova costume ^__^

Vi ho fatto venire un pó di acquolina in bocca???

And this is also the prefect occasion to introduce you mister "Cream Tea"! It`s more common in the south west of England (where I am living now) but you can find it all around the island!

If you don`t know what it is, well, it`s the traditional afternoon tea served with a yummy yummy yummy (and hypercaloric too ^__^) scone (like a small tart full of butter) to fill with clotted cream and jam. Delicious!!! Did I tempt you a little bit???

Inizio con Brigitte, molte di voi la conosceranno tramite il suo blog, e le sue meravigliose creazioni... é stata cosí carina da volermi mandare un regalo! quando l`ho aperto mi pareva di essere a Natale.. una meraviglia dietro l`altra.. e poi rosa e verde salvia.. serve che aggiunga altro? dico solo, come le ho giá detto, che la collana ce l`ho su praticamente quasi ogni giorno da quando l`ho ricevuta :))) Quanto fortunata sono ad avere amiche cosí???

E passiamo poi al blog candy del blog My Lucky.. ebbene si, non ci crederete, ma non contenta di aver vinto il blog di Elisa (Donnette fever) ho vinto anche quello di Barbara (Ladybug). Incredibile davvero! Non odiatemi!!! Ecco cos`ho vinto: la conigliotta Tilly e un runner abbinato!

Last minute "dancing" shoes

Vi ricordate il matrimonio che mi aspetta in Scozia vero? Beh, parto domani... e proprio all`ultimo minuto mi é venuto in mente che conoscendomi non resisteró tutto il giornio con i tacchi O__O soprattutto quando sará il momento di ballare! Panico!

Soluzione last minute? Ballerine da 5 sterline (le volevo marroni ma purtroppo non le ho trovate) e un fiore decorativo con la stoffa usata per borsa e clutch!

Tutorial trovato qui (e si puó sfruttare per mille cose, spille su borse, pochette, sciarpe, cerchielli ecc.ecc.)

Semplice, carinissime e veloci! ..e le useró sicuramente (e soprattutto) anche dopo il matrimonio ;)

Do you remember the wedding in Scotland I have been invited to? Well I am leaving tomorrow and I realized I haven`t thought that I can`t stand "high" heels all day long, especially when it will be dancing time! Panic!

Last minute solution? A pair of £5 ballerina shoes (I wanted them brown but I couldn`t find them) and a handmade flower made with the fabric used for the bag and the clutch. Here you can find a lovely tutorial (that you can use as a decoration on so many occasions: on bags, clutches, headbands, scarves etc.)

They are cute, easy and fast to make ... and I will be using them also after the wedding ;)

Tanto per cambiare sono un pochino indietro con le risposte alle mail... e domani parto per qualche giorno per cui portate un pó di pazienza... e arrivooooo!

Qualcosa per me (ogni tanto!)

Nonostante il periodaccio sono riuscita a ritagliarmi un po' di tempo per me, ogni tanto ci vuole, serve a rigenerare l`umore e la voglia di fare!

Erano circa 2 anni (da quando mi hanno regalato la mia amata Brother Innov-is 50) che dovevo farle una copertina per proteggerla dalla polvere ma si sa che queste sono le classiche cose che si rimandano all`inifinito in attesa della giusta ispirazione, che finalmente é arrivata!

Naturalmente stoffa abbinata alla cerata sul tavolo della craft room, un color verde acqua/salvia abbinato al rosso, mi pareva un bell`abbinamento .. e molto energetico! (oltre che un pó vintage, come piace a me)

Avrei voluto fare un tutorial, ma francamente é stato tutto un work in progress, modificato piú volte man mano che la creavo, inoltre struttura e misure dipendono totalmente dalle vostre singole macchine da cucire! Per cui spero vi basti cmq come ispirazione e idea! (tutorial se ne trovano molti in rete cmq! uno che mi ha aiutato per chiarire un pó le idee, anche se poi ho fatto a modo mio lo trovate qui)

Despite the busy period I took some time for myself, that`s necessary for the mood sometime! I have been thinking of making a sewing machine cover for at least two years (since I have been given my beloved Brother Innov-is 50 as a gift) but like you know, I was waiting for the right inspiration that finally arrived!

I used some sage green/aqua fabric (matching the oilcloth on my craft room table) with some red fabric, I think this is a lovely match, very cute, energetic and a little bit vintage!

I wanted to make a tutorial but because it has been a complete work in progress (changing many times during the making) and because it totally depends on your sewing machine size and shape, I couldn`t make it, but hopefully it will give you some ideas and inspiration anyway (and you can find a lot of tutorials online anyway! I also used this one to get some ideas on the construction)
